If we rewound to the start of 2022, I’d say my all time favourite adidas trainers were anything in the ultra boost family, but since then, I’ve road tested a fair few different pairs of womens trainers from adidas, and have collated this list of my favourites.
I’ve included running, lifestyle and cycling shoes from adidas – all of which I own and are in my current rotation. Some products have been gifted through the adidas Blogger Community, whilst others I have purchased myself.
adidas Solarglide 6 Running Shoes
I first tried the Solarglides when version 5 launched in 2022. I didn’t think I’d be a major fan but they quickly became my goto running shoes. So when the 6’s came out, and in an all black version (cos my white ones got trashed), I went for it.
The 6’s saw an improved design with the laces which reduced the gaping holes the 5’s used to have when laced up. I’ve found them true to size (as a UK 5) with a generous toe box.
adidas Samba / Velosamba Cycling Shoes
So me and the sambas have some history! I got my first pair of velosambas a few years ago and didn’t love the fit. They felt a bit too narrow across my feet and ended up selling them on, which was easy to do being a poplar shoe.
I’d originally bought them in a UK 5.5 but have since bought them in UK 5 (my regular size) and have found the fit to be much better. They take mtb spd cleats which you need to purchase separately.
I featured the velosamba in my gift guide for cyclists for gravel riders, bike packers and commuters as the cleats are recessed making it easy to walk around in them all day.
I do have the regular sambas on my ‘must buy’ list but most recently I ended up getting a pair of Gazelles instead.
adidas Gazelle Trainers
The adidas Gazelles are a pretty similar style to the sambas and fit in the lifestyle category of adidas trainers. I’m currently in my pink era (someone say Barbie) so I went for an all pink version.
They look great with pretty much any outfit – jeans, skirts, leggings etc – and can be dressed up or dressed down.

To me, they remind me of the nineties, but we all know that trends in fashion always come back and these are having their moment again for sure.
adidas Astir Chunky Trainers
When chunky trainers / dad trainers got their moment in the spotlight, the Astir were top of my list to fill that gap in my wardrobe – well, after I’d worn out my Fila Disruptors. I’ve pretty much lived in the Astirs I have since Spring 2022, and am currently waiting to take delivery of a second colourway I picked up in the sale.
adidas Nizza Platform Mid Shoes
I’m not a huge fan of wearing heels these days mostly due to comfort so platform trainers kinda tick the box of some elevation and comfort. I got the adidas Nizza Platform Mid Shoes as my Summer 2023 holiday shoes but being all white they’ve been super versatile to wear with most outfits (as seen below).
I tie the laces on these with the bow at the back so they have a cleaner more minimalist look when I’m wearing them.
